Denver DJ School – Return & Refund Policy

1. Return Eligibility & Timeframe

We strive to provide high-quality professional DJ equipment and services. To maintain fairness and protect against misuse, all returns must meet the following criteria:

  • Return requests must be initiated within 14 days of the original order date (this applies to all purchases, including pre-orders and backorders).
  • Returns requested after 14 days from the order date will not be accepted, regardless of delivery date.

2. Pre-Orders & Backorders (IMPORTANT)

For all pre-orders and backordered items:

  • The 14-day return window begins on the original order date, not the delivery date.
  • By placing a pre-order, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these terms.
  • Due to the nature of high-demand inventory, pre-orders may be subject to:
    • Restocking fees
    • Store credit only, at our discretion

3. Condition Requirements

To be eligible for a return, items must be:

  • Unused, unaltered, and in like-new condition
  • Free from any signs of wear or use
  • Returned with original packaging, including all:
    • Accessories
    • Cables
    • Manuals
    • Protective materials

We reserve the right to deny any return that does not meet these requirements.


4. Restocking Fees

Due to the nature of professional DJ equipment and associated processing costs:

  • Unopened items: Subject to a minimum 10% restocking fee
  • Opened items: Subject to 15–25% restocking fee, depending on condition
  • Items showing signs of use or missing components may:
    • Be subject to higher fees, or
    • Be denied return entirely

This policy applies to all professional-grade equipment, including products such as Pioneer DJ CDJ-3000 and similar items.


5. Financing Purchases (Affirm & Other Providers)

For purchases made through financing providers such as Affirm:

  • Refunds will be issued directly to the financing provider, not the customer
  • The customer’s loan will be adjusted or canceled in accordance with the provider’s terms
  • All processing and financing fees are non-refundable
  • Any applicable restocking fees will be deducted from the refund amount

Denver DJ School is not responsible for financing terms, interest, or agreements made between the customer and the financing provider.


6. Return Process

All returns must be approved in advance.

To initiate a return:

If approved:

  1. Return instructions will be provided
  2. Customer must ship the item back at their expense
  3. Item will be inspected upon arrival
  4. Refund (if approved) will be processed minus applicable fees

Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.


7. Return Shipping

  • Customers are responsible for:
    • Return shipping costs
    • Shipping insurance for items over $500
  • Denver DJ School is not responsible for:
    • Lost or damaged return shipments

8. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are final sale:

  • Opened headphones, earphones, or in-ear monitors
  • Software, digital downloads, or licenses
  • Custom-built or special-order items
  • Any item marked “Final Sale”

9. Inspection & Refund Processing

  • All returned items will be inspected upon receipt
  • Refunds will be processed within 5–10 business days after approval
  • Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider

10. Defective or Damaged Items

If an item arrives defective or damaged:

  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery
  • We will provide return instructions
  • Verified defective items will be:
    • Repaired, replaced, or refunded at our discretion
  • Return shipping will be covered in these cases

11. Policy Agreement

By placing an order with Denver DJ School, the customer agrees to:

  • All terms outlined in this Return & Refund Policy
  • Applicable restocking fees
  • Financing provider terms (if used)
